Course Information
Become more competent and confident operating a powerboat. Take friends and family out safely without stress, improving your enjoyment of boating.
The course consists of a combination of one day in the Classroom and one practical day on the Water, either taught on your own or one of our school boats. The two days are independent and can be taken in either order.
Theory day in the Classroom:
Hosted by our partner, Boatwise. Expect 10-15 Students per class.

· Safety
· Collision regulations
· USCG required safety equipment
Private Course includes up to 3 classroom places.
Practical day, on the Water:
Private class, on the students own boat, with up to 3 additional friends/family:
· Preparation and Planning
· Starting procedures
· Engine Operation & troubleshooting
· Basic Electrical and Water systems
· Close-quarter maneuvers
· Docking, Mooring & Anchoring
· Operating at speed and trim controls
· Person overboard procedures
· Fueling procedures
· VHF Radio Operation
On the water Courses operate most weekend days from 10am to 5pm. Weekdays may also be available on request.
Classroom days operate monthly, typically on a Saturday. The classroom day and practical days are booked separately and can be weeks apart.
